Nhoma Safari Camp

Nhoma Safari Camp is a small activity orientated, tented camp 80km from Tsumkwe within the traditional area of the Ju/’hoan San or Bushmen.

Ten safari tents with real beds and en-suite bathrooms have a 180 degree view over the Nhoma omuramba (fossil river bed). The camp is adjacent to a Ju/’hoan village and 40 km on a 4WD track, from the Khaudum National Park.

Activities consists of traditional games on the first afternoon, the half day hunt the next morning and the making of hunting equipment after the hunt. This is followed in the evening by the powerful healing dances.

A 5-day Bushcraft and Tracking Course is offered on set dates. The best Bushman hunters will demonstrate and teach their hunting techniques. Special emphasis will be put on reading tracks.

Day and overnight tours are also offered to the Khaudum National Park and can be added on to the normal 2-day stay. Khaudum escorts, whereby a guide and vehicle accompany a group through the park, are also offered.
