Mary-Jo Bed & Breakfast is a privately owned hospitality management which was established by Mr Werner Coetzee after he realised the hospitality potential of the Rehoboth town which lies merely 85km from Namibia's capital Windhoek. Rehoboth is filled with a rich background of culture and heritage as witnessed by a number of churches and historic museums dotted around the town. The heritage and culture is rooted in the inimitable history of the Baster people are originally from the cape in South Africa. In the late 1890s, the Baster trekked to Namibia from South Africa due to mounting pressure and competition for land with the white inhabitants of the Cape Colony. They settled in Rehoboth and are proud of their historical background which they say made them different from the rest of the colored communities found in Namibia
