Epupa Community Campsite consists of nine luxury safari-style tents erected on stone platforms, each with two single beds and an en-suite bathroom. All tents have electricity and mosquito netting, as well as an outside, shaded balcony overlooking the tranquil Kunene River. Large makalani palms overhead provide welcome shade from the midday sun. The adjacent dining room and lounge area also face the Kunene River, along with a lounging pool for cooling down from the midday heat or enjoying a glass of sparkling wine while watching the sun set. A minimum stay of two nights, ideally three, is recommended to fully benefit from everything the Epupa area has to offer.
Food is served three times a day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bar is always ready to serve something exotic.
Epupa Community Campsite, comprising five exclusive campsites under huge Ana and Makalani trees, are situated well away from the often noisy Epupa Village shebeens, approximately 1km from the Epupa Falls and allow for a camping of tranquillity in a secluded, shady and quiet corner along the Kunene River. One of our camping guests rated our showers as the best in Namibia! Each campsite has a river view and has private ablution facilities, consisting of a shower with warm and cold water, flush toilets and two hand basins, a braai (barbeque) area and a sink for dishes. The campsites are spacious to easily allow a group of 10 guests with five vehicles with off-road trailers or caravans. Campers are ensured of falling asleep to the sounds of only the rapids of the Kunene River, nocturnal animals and birds.
Camping guests are welcome to use the Epupa Camp facilities. Meals and activities can be booked with the camp management upon arrival. The local community sells firewood at the campsite and also offers a laundry service. For the sake of the environment, please use as little wood as possible to cook your food. Warm water is supplied by what in Namibia is called a ‘donkie’. Our camping staff fires the 'donkies' every morning and late in the afternoon. Adding more is not allowed as this can be potentially dangerous.
Epupa Community Campsite offers a wide range of activities comprising visit to Himba settlement, sundowners, rafting, bird-watching trip by boat, visits to Epupa Falls and hiking - giving the guest a rare opportunity to explore this fascinating corner of the world.

We collect fly-in guests at the landing strip and drive you through the mountainous landscape in an open safari vehicle. Stepping out of a small plane in this part of the world feels much like stepping into Karen Blixen's Out of Africa. However, the first sight of the Kunene delta is unsurpassed.
